LIFE FULL CIRCLE: FROM PLAYGROUND TO PLAYSTATION...

"Hey! you know what! I have completed 25 levels of farmville!"
"So what! even I completed 22 levels! I got upgrades also" I watch from my window as I see my brother and his friend talk all day about new computer games, farmville and Facebook. Now lets take a look back. Say about 10 years ago.
"Hey lets go down and play dodge ball!"
"No yaar! chupa chuppi khelte hain... sunny ko pidaaenge". And my friend and I giggled at the thought.
Not too long ago it was when my building use to buzz with noises made by us. We played all day long. All stupid games.Follow the leader - go on cycle and choose a leader and follow what he does. chuppa chuppi - come on! don't tell me you haven't played this game. Hide n seek? ring a bell?
When summers came, our mothers almost had a sore throat calling us out from our homes to come back and have lunch. But we were carefree bunch of kids happily drinking coconut water from a regular vendor who used to come daily to our society with his famous call out " aarek parek" (wonder where he has gone now!)
If you are thinking we didn't have fights then you are highly mistaken boss! Fights were wars.
We were kids and we had licence to fight for anything and everything. I remember one day, a girl who stays next door went on to complain my mom saying that i hit her with a rubber ball!. I was surprised as I hadn't even touched her. Even today we don't talk. I guess its mutual. football, basketball, rugby.. you name it... we played it. It was that easy! We invented new games as we were innocent little brats and our minds were creative. We played this game called "stick in the mud." NO! we didn't put our bodies in the mud! It was just called "stick in the mud"! it was a touch and go game! And how can I forget catch and cook and badminton! what royal times we had!
"Hey new version of PLAYSTATION has come! Its got WiFi connectivity too! we can download games and lots of stuff!"
" Man! but its too costly. But still I will message my brother who stays abroad. I will ask him to get it!"
And by the way! we didn't know what cell phones were until our fathers shifted gears from pager to BPL mobile phones!
That one full circle of life!
